Exemptions

  • new motor vehicles on their first 3 registrations
  • new hybrid-electric vehicles for the first 5 model years
  • 1967 or older vehicles
  • motorcycles, mopeds, and most tri-mobiles
  • vehicles based in remote areas of Clark County outside the testing area
  • electric vehicles and vehicles that run permanently on propane, compressed natural gas, methane, or butane
  • diesel vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 14,001 pounds or greater
  • classic vehicles driven 5,000 miles or less per year with the required odometer affidavit
